Pashinyan’s opponent released after detention in Yerevan

A resident of the Tavush Region, detained in front of the Armenian parliament at a protest action against Nikol Pashinyan, was released after a protocol on an administrative violation had been drawn up against him, the Yerevan Police reports today.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 10, a resident of the town of Ijevan brought a donkey to the Armenian parliament and announced that he would use the animal to return Nikol Pashinyan to his hometown. The police did not allow the activist to approach the parliament building and took him to a police station.

The detainee was brought to the police station, but later released, an officer of the press service for the Yerevan Police reports today.

According to the police press officer, a protocol was drawn up against the man under Article 182 of the Armenian Administrative Code (disobeying legal requests of law enforcers), the “Sputnik Armenia” reports.

The detainee was identified as Sevada Gukasyan, a 36-year-old resident of the Tavush Region, the “Shamshyan” crime news website reports.
