Fellow villagers support Dagestani native Bashirov after his detention
In Makhachkala, residents of the Khasavyurt District held an action of solidarity with Makhach Bashirov, detained in a case on the extremist community, and recorded a video, calling him a respectable person.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 22, it was reported that seven residents of Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the Stavropol Territory, suspected of involvement in an attempt to blow up a police station, were detained in the Stavropol Territory. Makhach Bashirov was among the detainees, whom investigators consider to be members of the extremist religious association “At-Takfir wal-Hijra”, banned in Russia by the court. A mother of Makhach Bashirov recorded a video appeal to Vladimir Putin and claimed that her son was not guilty.
According to the investigators’ version, Makhach Bashirov offered to send 2000 roubles to help children in Syria. The man himself called the accusations “lies and slander.”
Lyubov Bashirova, the mother of the suspect, said that unknown people in masks took Makhach without any explanations away from his house in the village of Terechnoye in the Khasavyurt District.
According to the suspect’s mother, before his detention, Makhach never had any problems with the law enforcement bodies.
The Instagram public account “terechnoe.today” posted videos in which relatives and friends described Makhach Bashirov. In particular, the deputy imam of the village called him an example of morality and spirituality.
