Dagestan: activist Diana Dibirova achieves victory in her detention case

The judgement about the unlawfulness of the detention of the student, Diana Dibirova, gives grounds to demand a disciplinary punishment of the law enforcer, Marat Ismailov, an advocate, has noted. Diana is ready to express her civil stand despite calls to the police and threats of expulsion from the arts school.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Makhachkala, on January 23, the day of the all-Russian action in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, law enforcers took people away, although, as eyewitnesses said, no one unfolded posters or shouted slogans. In total, about 100 people were taken to the police, including minors, Diana Dibirova, a student of the Dagestani Arts School, among them.

The policeman had no reason to bring Dibirova to the police station, the advocate believes. The law enforcer's actions were treated as a violation of the freedom of movement. The court ruled to satisfy the claim.

Earlier, on April 21, when another action in Navalny's support was announced, policemen took Dibirova away straight from the classes and held her for about five hours in the police building. She was released after being fined for petty hooliganism.

Diana Dibirova has stated that she is not going to give up her civil position.
