Armenian soldier wounded at border with Azerbaijan

Conscript soldier Garnik Abraamyan was wounded in the Gegarkunik Region as a result of a shelling attack from Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reports today.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Azerbaijan and Armenia regularly exchange accusations of violating the ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone and at the border of the two countries.

Conscript soldier Garnik Abraamyan was wounded as a result of a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani positions, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was informed at the press service for the Armenian MoD.

According to a press officer of the Armenian MoD, the incident has taken place this morning at about 10:30 a.m. Moscow time at one of the combat positions near the village of Kut in the Gegarkunik Region. “The soldier was wounded in his forearm. His life is out of danger,” the press officer reported.
