Krasnodar resident sentenced to long imprisonment term in high treason case

A military court sentenced a resident of Krasnodar to eleven years of imprisonment for attempting to join a Ukrainian armed formation.

In June 2023, having in advance found out how to enter Ukraine, the 23-year-old young man went to the location of the Ukrainian paramilitary association “Legion ‘Freedom of Russia’ (banned in Russia)” to join its ranks, the Rostov Region Prosecutor’s Office reported.

“In June 2023, the criminal activity was suppressed by the law enforcement bodies,” the official website of the Rostov Region Prosecutor’s Office reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that the court sentenced Daniil Zinkovsky, a resident of the village of Leningradskaya, to seven years of imprisonment, finding him guilty of attempting to go over to the side of Ukraine and join an armed formation.
