Absence of contacts with relatives living in Grozny worries Yangulbaev
After the abduction of Zarema Musaeva, her son, Abubakar Yangulbaev, said that about 15 members of the Yangulbaev and Musaev families living in Grozny have stopped communicating.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, the "Committee against Torture" (CaT) reported that Zarema Musaeva, the wife of the federal judge, Saidi Yangulbaev, was taken away, in unconscious condition, from Nizhny Novgorod in cars with Chechen license plates. An advocate is not allowed to visit Zarema Musaeva, and she is not allowed to talk to her relatives, Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer for the North-Caucasian branch of the CaT, has stated.
On January 21, Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed that Musaeva had been taken to Grozny and said that the Yangulbaevs should find their place "in prison or under the ground."
The relatives of Abubakar Yangulbaev living in Grozny have stopped communicating and do not appear at home, Abubakar has stated. He suggests that they could "be forced out in order to record a video in which they would insult" their family, the "Kavkaz.Realii" writes.
The detention of Musaeva in Nizhny Novgorod became a new episode in a series of abductions and kidnappings of relatives of critics of the Chechen authorities, the "Caucasian Knot" blogger with the nickname Chechnya insider believes.
Let us remind you that in December 2021, Abubakar Yangulbaev announced the kidnapping of 37 of his relatives living in Chechnya. Based on the information about Zarema Musaeva, at least 11 family members of Kadyrov's critics are now being held in Chechnya.
