Case of Dagestani resident beaten up by law enforcers reaches the court

In the village of Akhty, four law enforcers had beaten up a local resident in order to force him to confess to a theft, the prosecution asserts.

According to investigators, on February 11, 2020, in the village of Akhty, the Akhty District, at the police station, the defendants, with the intention to knock a confession of the theft out of a local resident, inflicted many blows and kicks on him, including with the use of special means.

The victim received multiple bruises and abrasions, and moral sufferings.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that a resident of the Khasavyurt District, who was detained on a complaint about extorting eight million roubles from a woman, claimed that he was tortured with electric current, when law enforcers tried to force him to confess.
