Beslan hostages stand up for blogger Batraz Sidamon
Former hostages and graduates of School No. 1 of Beslan have launched a petition in support of the blogger, Batraz Sidamon. The authors of the petition assert that Sidamon was prosecuted on the basis of an incorrect expertise.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11, it became known that Batraz Sidamon, a blogger from North Ossetia, was accused of promoting the superiority of Russians over Ossetians and inciting hatred towards the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and the state. The reason for opening the administrative case was his post with a comment to the initiative of the activists of the "Nyfs" movement to rename Lenin Street in the honour of the Hero of the Soviet Union Toguzov.
In the "Change.org" website, a group of former hostages and graduates of School No. 1 of Beslan has launched a petition in support of Batraz Misikov, known as the blogger, Batraz Sidamon, the Telegram channel entitled "I don't record audio" reported on May 22.
The authors of the petition believe that the case was opened against Batraz Sidamon on the basis of an incorrect expertise, which was ordered by interested persons from a commercial organization that has nothing to do with scientific activities, the authors of the petition assert.
"Former hostages and pupils of School No. 1 ask the public of North Ossetia-Alania and all non-indifferent citizens of Russia to pay attention to this situation, to support and help Batraz Misikov, to help us resolve this incident, and most importantly, to stop in the future the possibility of initiating illegal administrative or criminal cases against Russian citizens," the petition says.
