Sapper blown up by mine in the Djebrail District

Rukhin Veliev, 31, a sapper, was engaged in demining the territory of the Djebrail District and received multiple wounds, when an anti-personnel mine exploded, the demining agency has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the territories that came under Azerbaijan's control after the 2020 Karabakh war, mine explosions are regularly killing and wounding people. Thus, on April 9, a shepherd lost both legs in a mine explosion in the Terter District; and on May 27, a military man was blown up by a mine while performing his military duties in the Agdam District.

Veliev Rukhin Sultan oglu, a 31-year-old employee of the Azerbaijani Demining Agency (ANAMA), blew himself up by an anti-personnel mine while demining the territory in the Djebrail District, the APA News Agency has reported citing the press service of the ANAMA.

The Armenian name for Djebrail is Mekhakavan.
