Social network users dispute about rules of conduct for tourists in Chechnya

In Chechnya, tourists must respect the republic's customs, including wearing modest clothes, some users have pointed out in their comments to the Instagram* post containing rules of conduct for visitors to the region. Other commentators have objected that tourists can dress as they please, and besides, locals do not always follow these rules themselves.

In its Instagram* page, the Ministry of Tourism of Chechnya posted the rules of conduct for tourists coming to the republic. In Chechnya, the main religion is Islam, which dictates modesty in dress, the message says.

Some users find the Ministry's guidelines for guests to be correct. "Let them behave that way it's customary in Chechnya," the user zhovtihanov believes.

Some users complained about tourists' behaviour. "It has already come to the point that people are walking around the city in shorts. We don't need such tourists," the user mr.chechen85 has written.

However, not all users agreed with this. "Are you serious? And locals wear in tight clothes, isn't that vulgar?" the user s__lu__ bryunetka504ch has objected. "That's why they are tourists – they wear what is easy for them to walk in," the user z__20___ has stated.
