LGBT opponent dies after suicide attempt at action in Tbilisi
A participant in a rally of homophobic groups against the LGBT Week held in Tbilisi on July 2 has died in a Tbilisi hospital.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 2, in Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, members and supporters of the "Alt-Info" movement organized a protest action against the LGBT Week. A total of 43 protesters were detained under the article on disobedience to the lawful order of a policeman.
A man who injured himself during an anti-LGBT action held outside the Georgian parliament died in a hospital in Tbilisi two weeks later, the "Newposts" has reported today.
Prior to mutilating himself, the man stated that he "didn't want to live in such a sinful country anymore." Then, he jumped into a fountain, from where he was evacuated by an ambulance. When doctors took him to hospital, he was conscious and talked to other protesters, the "News-Georgia" has informed.
