Peacemakers report shelling village in Nagorno-Karabakh
Azerbaijani militaries have shelled a border village located in the Martuni District of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 28, the Armenian MoD reported shelling of its positions on the border with Azerbaijan; and the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced shelling of the border villages of Tagavard and Krasny Bazar. In its turn, the Azeri MoD refuted this information. The international community should pay attention to Azerbaijan's actions of, Gegam Stepanyan, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ombudsperson, has stated.
On February 8 this year, it became known that Krasny Bazar villagers stopped taking their children to kindergarten because of shelling. On February 11, residents of the communities of Tagavard (the Azerbaijani name for Tagavard is Tagaverd, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and Krasny Bazar complained that houses were damaged by the shelling conducted by Azerbaijani militaries. In Krasny Bazar, a bullet hit the house where Arev Gabrielyan's large family of lives; however, they have no intention to leave their house. Shelling keeps people in fear; and livestock is stolen from villagers, locals complain.
Russian peacemakers have fixed a violation of ceasefire near the village of Tagavard, says the website of the Russian MoD. There were no victims, and the incident has been settled.
