Three persons injured in a mine explosion in Azerbaijan
This morning, three persons have been blown up by a mine in the Fizuli District of Azerbaijan. The victims have got injuries of varying severity.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 11, the European Union (EU) announced the allocation of an additional amount of 4.25 million euros to Azerbaijan for support of demining within the project “Support for the safe return of IDPs (internally displaced persons) through building ANAMA capacity” (ANAMA is an abbreviation for the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”).
Today, at about 10 a.m., the explosion of an anti-personnel mine has occurred in the village of Garakhanbeili in the Fizuli District. Yadigyar Shukurov, born in 1990, Rovshan Alizade, born in 1991, and Gylman Guseinov, born in 1976, engaged in works on clearing the territory from mines, suffered in the mine explosion, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent has been informed by the Fizuli District Prosecutor’s Office.
Yadigyar Shukurov and Rovshan Alizade have got bodily injuries of varying severity. Gylman Guseinov lost his leg, the Fizuli District Prosecutor’s Office reports.
On July 25, in his phone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev said that after the 44-day war, 240 Azerbaijani citizens were killed or injured as a result of mine explosions, the “Azertag.az” reported.
