Azerbaijani military police posts set up in Lachin Corridor

At the dwelling settlements located in the Lachin Corridor that came under the control of Baku, military police posts began operating, the Azeri Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 26, the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliev, announced that Azerbaijani militaries had taken control of the town of Lachin (the Armenian name is Berdzor) and the villages of Zabukh (the Armenian name is Akhavno) and Sus, which were abandoned by local residents at the insistence of Karabakh authorities.

The work of military police units of the Azerbaijani Army has been organized in Lachin and the villages of Zabukh and Sus, the Azeri MoD has informed.

According to the MoD, the military police checkpoints are keeping the records of the motor vehicles entering the territory, regulate the travels of military vehicles and escort motorcades for their safety. Besides, they will be engaged in searching for mines and guarding service in the territory with the help of service dogs, the MoD's press release has informed.
