Journalist Bella Nasibyan released after questioning by law enforcers
The police released Rostov journalist Bella Nasibyan. She is involved as a witness in a case on fakes about the Russian Armed Forces, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Rostov-on-Don, law enforcers detained journalist Bella Nasibyan after a search. Searches of journalists’ houses in several regions of Russia are connected with a case against former MP Ilya Ponomaryov, suspected of spreading fake news about the Russian Armed Forces, sources report.
Ilya Ponomaryov has been living in exile since 2014, the “Kommersant” reports. According to the law enforcement bodies’ version, Ilya Ponomaryov, who is arrested in absentia, continues his “destructive activities against Russia in instant messengers and social media” from abroad, the RIA “Novosti” reports.
Bella Nasibyan works as a journalist at the “RusNews” and also participates in election campaigns of the “Yabloko” Party.
*Included in the register of unregistered public associations performing the functions of a foreign agent.
