Relatives of detained opponents of mobilization gather near police building in Makhachkala

In Makhachkala, relatives of the people detained at a protest action against the mobilization and other residents of the city gathered near a police department. According to eyewitnesses, there are many young people among the detainees, and no advocates are allowed to visit them.

“People are trying to rescue their detained relatives. There are also advocates who are not allowed into the police department,” said a journalist the weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft).

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 25, on a square in Makhachkala, where participants of a protest action against the mobilization gathered, a mass fight has occurred, and the police began to detain those who came to the square. It also became known about the detention of Idris Yusupov, a journalist of the “Novoye Delo” (New Clause), and Sergey Einbinder, the editor-in-chief of the “RusNews”.

On September 25, in Makhachkala, the police also violently dispersed the action of the people who were protesting against the mobilization. According to human rights defenders, 101 people were detained.
