Social network users dispute about appeal of wife of Dagestani Mufti to Putin

By asking for a mobilization delay for residents of the republic, Aina Gamzatova, an adviser and the wife of the Mufti of Dagestan, has stated what men were afraid to say, some network users have noted. Others have objected saying that Gamzatova, while criticizing militaries' actions, could have asked for more for the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that young people unprepared for military operations are being mobilized in Dagestan; and Aina Gamzatova has pointed out this in her in her appeal to Vladimir Putin. She asked to postpone the mobilization and give the region six months for training recruits.

Aina Gamzatova is a Muslim journalist, writer, and public and religious figure of Dagestan, a co-founder of the "Put" (Way) Charity Fund.

Her appeal has sparked discussions online. Some Instagram commentators have expressed gratitude to Gamzatova.

"She's very wise; you can feel her love and compassion for the republic's people," the user nizhneebeliekiti has pointed out.

Others, however, have noted that Gamzatova "could have done more." "As the wife, a mother and an adviser to the Mufti of Dagestan, she could say much more than to ask for a delay! We don't want a delay of death; we want it to be cancelled," the user nsn_sna has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on September 25 and 26, in Makhachkala, law enforcers severely dispersed the participants of mass anti-mobilization actions. According to human rights defenders, at least 250 people were detained.
