Contract soldier from Ingushetia achieves payments after dismissal
After his request for dismissal for family reasons, a contract serviceman from Ingushetia lost his payments but after his appeal to the court, the command abandoned their claims, human rights defenders report.
For several years, Rashid M. from Ingushetia had served in Northern Caucasus, and in June 2022 filed a report of resignation for family reasons. He indicated that he had four minor children, three of whom were disabled, as dependents. However, the division commander dismissed Rashid "due to non-fulfilment of contract conditions," the "Memorial" Centre for Defence of Human Rights has reported in its Telegram channel.
"The command tried to present the dismissal almost as a desertion, forcing the man to either go to [the military operation] or be left without due payments," says the post in the channel.
The commander's decision was appealed against at the Nalchik Garrison Military Court.
"Not all the militaries are defending their rights; and this case became known to the court. Therefore, the command admitted their mistake ... Now Rashid will be able to receive all the due payments and find a job without problems. And with the previous wording, they would not even hire him as a security guard," Rashid's advocate has explained.
Let us remind you that Alexander Ryazanov, a contract soldier of the regiment deployed in Chechnya, could not quit the army after the announcement of mobilization. His contract expired, but the court forbade him to leave his service, citing the restrictions imposed after the start of mobilization in Russia.
