Human rights activists prepare film on harassment of Meskhetian Turks in Krasnodar Territory

The Stavropol human rights centre, in close collaboration with "Novorossiysk Committee for Human Rights", has completed work on the full-length documentary "Iskhod" (exodus) about a long-standing discrimination, based on the nationality, of Meskhetian Turks in Krasnodar Territory, due to which most of them had to emigrate to the US within the resettlement program. "Iskhod" is the fourth documentary film made by the Stavropol regional human rights centre and the first part of the trilogy "Who is the next one?" Following it next will be the films about the situation of other small nations of Krasnodar Territory, such as Ezids, Kurmanches, Hemshils, runs the message of Stavropol regional human rights centre submitted to the "Caucasian Knot."

The film on DVDs and VHS cassettes will be sent to various state power agencies and public organizations of the country as well as to international human rights organizations. Assistance in disseminating the film "Iskhod" and other films is rendered by the International Youth Human Rights Movement (Voronezh) within the "Civil Action - 2005" program.

The project is financed by the Foundation "For Civil Society" (Moscow) within the project "On Elimination of Ethnic Discrimination, Racism, Xenophobia, Intolerance and Extremism in Russia", supported by the Mott Foundation (USA). The film production was also partially financed by the Foundation "Bearing Point" (Moscow).
