Woman from Krasnodar fined for discrediting militaries

A court in Krasnodar has fined a local female resident, finding her guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, 2022, liability for discrediting the Russian Army was introduced, after which residents of Southern Russia and Northern Caucasus began to be held accountable under this article. The maximum punishment under it provides for a fine of 50,000 roubles for citizens, but a repeated violation committed within a year threatens already with criminal prosecution.

The Prikubansky District Court has fined Vitalina Zhemchuzhnikova by 30,000 roubles. According to investigators, she tore off the letter "Z" with the inscription "We never leave our people!" Law enforcers have concluded that by this gesture she discredited the Russian Armed Forces.

The woman has challenged the fine, but the court dismissed her complaint.

Let us remind you that on February 16, 2023, it became known that a court in Sochi had fined a local resident, Ilgiz Iskandarov, finding that his comment in a social network had discredited Russian militaries.
