Pastor from Anapa convicted under article about undesirable organization

The court sentenced Nikolai Bogoslavsky, the Pastor of the Evangelical Church of Christ the Saviour in Anapa, to a year in colony under the article on cooperation with an undesirable organization.

Bogoslavsky was fined for his participation in the conference of the "New Generation"* Christian Movement that took place in the Moscow Region in December 2021. Law enforcers came there and forced about 60 participants to sign documents on responsibility under the article on cooperation with an undesirable organization. "They kept all the participants face down on the cold floor for 40 minutes and beat up one person," believers assert.

Law enforcers believe that Bogoslavsky continued cooperating with the "New Generation"*, and after the fine, a criminal case was opened against him. The Anapa City Court has found him guilty of collaborating with an "undesirable organization," the "OVD-Info"** project reports, referring to the press service of the regional courts.

In August 2021, the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) declared the activities of four foreign religious organizations as undesirable in the country. The international Christian Movement "New Generation" was among them, the RBC (RosBusinessConsulting) has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March this year, the ECtHR communicated the complaints of seven activists from Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) and Adygea, who stated that they had been persecuted in connection with their involvement in undesirable organizations.
