Volgograd resident accused of discrediting Russian Army

Law enforcers have drawn up a report on discrediting the Russian Army against Sergey Latmentsev, a resident of Volgograd.

In June 2022, the court imposed a fine of 30,000 roubles on Sergey Latmentsev under the article on discrediting the Russian Army for posting pacifist photos in a social network and links to an interview with Victor Shenderovich*, a publicist.

The new protocol against Latmentsev was reported by the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on August 26, a street painter from Volgograd, Philip Kozlov, known under the pseudonym of Philippenzo, was released after two consecutive 15-day arrests. Searches were conducted in his studio and home.

On July 27, 2023, the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) reported on the detention of a resident of the Kotelnikov District within a criminal case of discrediting the Russian Army for his comments posted in social networks. Earlier, he was sentenced to compulsory public works under the article on calls for violation of the Russia's territorial integrity for his proposal to create the Kotelnikov Republic, law enforcers have explained.
