Health condition of Albagachiev from Ingushetia worsens after convoying
After his convoying to colony Abdul-Malik Albagachiev, a native of Ingushetia, has suffered four epileptic attacks; now he suffers from memory problems.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 7, 2023, the Sovietsky District Court of Astrakhan changed Albagachiev's custody regime to imprisonment. The forensic examination noted that his health condition was worsening as he received no due medical treatment in his penal colony.
On July 30, 2023, Albagachiev suffered an epileptic attack; however, despite a request for help, the doctor came only two hours later. His relatives claimed that the frequent attacks were consequences of the torture to which he was subjected by law enforcers.
Albagachiev wrote to Irina Biryukova, his advocate, that from November 18 to 21 he had four epileptic attacks. And after the last one, problems with memory began, so that he even forgot the names of his children, the "Public Verdict" Fund* has reported.
The deterioration of his health condition occurred after Albagachiev was transferred to a colony in the Ulyanovsk Region. During the convoying, no medical care was provided even during an epileptic attack; one of the prisoners rendered him some help, says the Fund's Telegram channel.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on March 19, 2023, human rights defenders announced the torturous conditions of Albagachiev's custody in the colony.
In August 2018, Albagachiev was sentenced to nine years in penal colony. According to investigators, from January to March 2015, he fought in Syria against government troops, and after returning to Russia, he kept a homemade grenade with him.
