North Ossetian native Kaloev released from Swiss prison will come back home in a week

Vitaly Kaloev, a native of North Ossetia, convicted in Switzerland for murdering a "SkyGuide" Company's air traffic controller and released from prison before his term, will return to Russia in the nearest seven or eight days, the RIA "Novosti" informs with reference to Alexander Gladkov, attache for press relations of the Russian Embassy in Switzerland.

He has noted that the verdict of the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland is final, as it is the supreme judicial instance of the country. "Kaloev gets the right for early release under the legislation of the country: the convict who has served more than two thirds of his term has the right for early release," the diplomat has noted.

Today, the Supreme Court of Switzerland has ruled to immediately release Vitaly Kaloev, who was sentenced in 2004 for murdering the air traffic controller of the "SkyGuide".

The "Caucasian Knot" informed earlier that on September 4 the district court of the Swiss city of Bulach found the employees of the "SkyGuide" guilty of criminal negligence and involuntary manslaughter. Three of them were sentenced to one year of deprivation of freedom with sentence delay; another convict will have to pay a fine worth 13,500 Swiss francs (USD 11,200). Four more defendants were acquitted. None of the defendants pled guilty having imposed the guilt on air traffic controller Peter Nielsen, who was on duty on that night and later killed by Kaloev.
