President of Georgia pardons 722 prisoners

On November 23, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili signed a pardon decree in relation to 722 prisoners, the President's press service reports. As a whole, within the amnesty campaign, they plan to release about five thousand prisoners in the near future.

Among those pardoned by President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, there are 21 women and 25 minors. This is the information of the press service of the Department for Punishment Enforcement of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, as the IA "News-Georgia" reports.

According to Eka Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Justice, the pardon has covered those inmates who had committed minor crimes or crimes by imprudence, the IA "Prime News" reports.
