Nikoyan: firearms were used on March 1 in Yerevan

Samvel Nikoyan, Chairman of the ad hoc commission of the National Assembly of Armenia, which was set up to study the events on March 1 in Yerevan, has confirmed in his conversation with journalists the words that he addressed to a foreign correspondent that firearms were used and a sniper worked in the course of the said events.

"I repeat that among the police forces who acted on March 1, there was a sniper," he has stated.

Let us note here that immediately after the events on March 1, President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanyan denied any presence of firearms on police units.
