European Court on Human Rights considers three complaints of Chechen residents

On January 22, the European Court on Human Rights considered three more complaints of Chechen residents which relate to the disappearance of five young people and execution of one man during the period from October 2002 to April 2004.

This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent be the representative of the organization "Legal Initiative in Russia ".

In the case of "Dolsayev et al. vs Russia", the court held Russia responsible for the disappearance of four Dolsayev brothers. Beslan, Rizvan, Rizavdi and Shuddi Dolsayevs lived with their parents, brothers and sisters in the village of Martan-Chu. On October 21, 2002, early in the morning, the soldiers of the Main Reconnaissance Department under the Ministry of Defense (GRU) stormed in the Dolsayevs' house, arrested and took away the brothers in the armored vehicle. No one has ever seen them again.

The complaint "Zaurbekov and Zaurverova vs Russia" is related to the forced disappearance of Isa Zaurbekov on February 11, 2003, after his arrest near his house in Grozny. He is missing.

The claimants on the case "Sambiyev and Pokayeva vs Russia" are parents of Anzor Sambiyev who was killed by soldiers on April 10, 2004 in the village of Starye Ataghi. In march 2002, the military servicemen arrested Amir Pokayev, Anzor's younger brother, and nine other resident of the village in the course of a mass "clean-up" in Starye Ataghi. On January 8, 2009, the court held Russia responsible for the death of Amir and nine other people.

After the murder of Amir, his parents sent Anzor to stay with his relatives outside Chechnya. At the beginning of April, Anzor came to visit his parents. On the evening of April 10, 2004, the soldiers who kept asking about Anzor's whereabouts forced into the claimants' house and detained Anzor. On the following day, his body was found with bullet wounds.

Pursuant to the court decisions, the claimants are granted material and moral damages in the amount of euros 234,000.
