Spaniards to help Astrakhan Region in using wind energy
The government of the Astrakhan Region and the LLC "FERSA-Cherkessk", an affiliate of the Spanish Company "Fersa Energias Renovables", have signed a contract on construction of windmills in the Astrakhan Region.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Ministry of Fuel-and-Energy Complex and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan Region that "the analysis of opportunities to make use of windmills in the Region was made several times by experts of various research institutes."
"Investments into construction of windmill park will be made by FERSA from its own and attracted funds," a source from the Ministry told the correspondent. This Company has sufficient experience in studying the wind potential with the aim of power generation, and the capacity to build, adjust and further maintain the windmill park.
According to the source, the sum of Company's investments into the windmill park is planned of at least 30 billion roubles. The power of the park will be defined in the course of the project, but it can make at least 200 MW. The project will start in 2009.
