Abkhazia refutes Georgia's information about murder of Nabakevi resident by Russian militaries

Adgur Kogoniya, Public Prosecutor of the Gali District of Abkhazia, has categorically refuted the information disseminated today by Georgian media about the murder by Russian militaries of Koba Meboniya, a resident of Nabakevi village.

We remind you that according to the data of the Georgian party, drunken soldiers tried to take foodstuffs away from the family of the Nabakevi resident; during the incident a quarrel burst out with Meboniya, and the man of 31 was shot dead at the gate of his house; and then the soldiers took his body away.

Adgur Kogoniya said that as soon as the information about Meboniya started to spread in electronic media, the District Prosecutor's Office began finding out whether this fact had actually taken place. "We've established that Koba Meboniya died five years ago; and he had lived not in Nabakevi of the Gali District, but in the village of Khurcha, Zugdidi District of Georgia," the Public Prosecutor has reported.

"The Georgian party is doing it deliberately, trying to show Russian militaries as 'monsters and invaders' and have EU observers in and Russian troops out of the territory of Abkhazia," Mr Kogoniya has emphasized.

Also, according to his story, the information spread yesterday about blowing up a bridge in the Gali District has nothing to do with reality. "It's all the same tune," he has added.
