Investigation of young woman's murder underway in Chechnya

In Chechnya, law enforcers hold inquiry into a young woman's murder; her body with several gunshot wounds was found in the Shelkovskoy District.

"Yesterday, on February 3, in a large forest, several kilometres off Grebenskaya village, Shelkovskoy District, an isolated burial was found. In a shallow tomb, the body of a young woman with indications of violent death was buried. Six gunshot wounds were detected on the body," the law enforcement bodies of the Republic have reported.

Later, the person of the casualty was established. She was a resident of Komsomolskoe village, Naur District.

"Currently, the operative-inquiry group conducts the respective actions by interrogating the victim's relatives and friends. On the fact, a criminal case was initiated under part 1, Article 105 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation ("Murder")," a source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The source refused to name the murdered girl. He also gave no answer to the question whether this crime could be linked with similar executions of young women committed in Chechnya in the end of last November.
