Azerbaijan leadership is suspected of corruption

The other day Hans Bodmer, a Swiss citizen and a lawyer of the law firm "Von Meiss Blum & Partners" was arrested in Seoul on demand of the US judicial authorities. He was called a key figure in bribery payments of tens of millions of dollars that were made to Azerbaijan top officials in 1997-1999 for giving the opportunity of taking part in the process of privatization in this country. The issue "Azerbaijan government officials" seems to be the most scandalous part of the New York Grand Jury's indictment. This issue reads that some "officials of high rank" in Azerbaijan received "corruption payments". As the "Vremya Novostey" asserts, the names of "some officials" are openly pronounced in the West - they are Azerbaijan President Geydar Aliyev and his son Azerbaijan Prime Minister Ilykham Aliyev.
