Incident of kidnapping in Chechnya was a feign

The information about kidnapping of the resident of the Grozny District of Chechnya, who had earlier worked as inspector, was not confirmed. It was found out that the incident was staged (feigned) with the aim to conceal a woman's murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from a source in law enforcement bodies of the republic. The fact was also confirmed at the Information Centre of the Union of NGOs, which had been the origin of this information.

"A criminal case was initiated on the murder of Zairaeva, a resident of Prigorodnoe village, Grozny District. The inquiry also tried to clear up the circumstances of another supposed crime, namely, kidnapping of the man, who, by the way, was Zairaeva's brother, not a son, as reported before, and who indeed once worked in law enforcement bodies as inspector," said the source of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"It turned out that there was no kidnapping, and no attack on Zairaeva's house of unknown criminals. It was just a feign. The neighbours heard some noise in Zairaeva's house, then, a grenade explosion; and when they found a murdered woman inside and missing brother, they claimed a kidnapping. However, two days after the incident, the 'kidnapped' brother voluntarily surrendered to the militia," the source has asserted.

"He confessed of murdering Zairaeva by knifing her many times. Then, he threw a grenade into the house and ran away. For this very reason the neighbours and relatives thought that he was kidnapped and Zairaeva was killed at attempting to interfere. Now, a criminal case is open against the murderer," the source has concluded.
