In Chechnya, possible Delimkhanov's involvement in attempt on Yamadaev is treaded ambiguously

People in Chechnya treat differently the accusations moved against Chechen President's close associate and deputy of the State Duma of Russia from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov by the police of Dubai of organizing an attempt on Hero of Russia Sulim Yamadaev, ex-commander of the GRU "Vostok" special battalion. Some observers are convinced that Delimkhanov was involved in the crime, while others believe that certain forces are trying to discredit Ramzan Kadyrov.

"If the police boss of Dubai himself asserts Delimkhanov's involvement in Yamadaev's murder, he should have rather strong reasons to do it. It is an international scandal!" one of Chechen observers who preferred to remain anonymous said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In his opinion, even if the Dubai police prove Delimkhanov's guilt, it will be difficult to make him responsible in Russia.

A source from the National Central Bureau (NCB) of the Interpol at Russia's MIA has reported that the deputy of the State Duma Adam Delimkhanov can be arrested and deported to the to authorities of the United Arab Emirates only in case of his detention outside the Russian Federation.

At the same time, some people in Chechnya stick to the opinion that the attempt on the former commander of the GRU special battalion was profitable for some "third force" fighting against President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.

"In a couple of recent months, several custom murders of Chechens have been committed abroad. First, a former Kadyrov's security was killed in Vienna, then, there were murders in Turkey. Later, a certain repenting gunman appeared in Norway, and, finally, Sulim Yamadaev's execution followed. In all these stories, a clear line is traced built against Ramzan Kadyrov," said a Chechen political scientist who asked not to give his name.

Most likely, as he said, certain forces in Moscow strive towards complete discrediting the leadership of the Chechen Republic, "and use this pretext to launch the third military campaign in the republic, or, at the best, to make an elite replacement."

Aslambek Apaev, a human rights activist and expert of the Moscow Helsinki Group for Northern Caucasus, believes that it is too early to make any conclusions on "Yamadaev's case".

Adam Delimkhanov has already stated his complete non-interference in the attempt on Yamadaev.

"Statements of the boss of the Dubai police are provocative and are aimed at destabilizing the Chechen society. His statements are obviously customized. The police have failed to hold a proper investigation," runs Delimkhanov's statement disseminated on April 5. "I'll try to make them responsible according to the law."

Adam Delimkhanov is considered to be one of the nearest associates of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. Prior to the second military campaign in the Chechen Republic, Delimkhanov was the personal driver of "Titanic", notorious militant Salman Raduev.
