Beseliya: Georgia's MIA fails to ensure safety of protest actions

Last night an oppositionist was beaten in Tbilisi. Eka Beseliya, leader of the Party "Movement for United Georgia", has stated that the country's MIA fails to prevent violence and ensure safety of the participants of protest actions; accordingly, the Ministry "will receive adequate answer."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that at least 10 persons suffered as a result of attacks on oppositionists in Georgia.

As reported by Malor Vachnadze, a board member of the youth "April 9 Movement", the oppositionist, who suffered this night, left his car in the Mardzhanishvili Street in city centre, when he was attacked by unidentified persons, who put him into other car, brought to the Tovstonogov Street and beat there.

They tried to lock Vachnadze in the car, but he managed to run away. Now, the victim is in the Republic's Hospital. He already evidenced to the police and told about the incident at the Ombudsman's office, as the "Rosbalt" reports.
