Two militants were killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

Today in the morning, in the city of Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria), Ruslan Odizhev, who had been announced into search, and certain Tengizov were killed. According to the materials of the investigation, during the events of October 13, 2005, Ruslan Odizhev commanded the group of militants that made an attack on the OMON (Special Militia) base of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

In the car that belonged to the casualties, the militia found 5 grenades, two pistols and 21 sleeping bags.

Back before the attack on the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the South Federal District (SFD) initiated a criminal case against Odizhev but failed to find any crime elements in his actions.

Militant Ruslan Odizhev, liquidated in Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria), was involved in 1999 apartment block explosions in Moscow and Volgodonsk. According to the RIA "Novosti," this is the topic of the statement of the Centre of Public Relations of the Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau):

"It has been established that (liquidated militant) Ruslan Odizhev was an active participant on the Republic's religious-extremist community and the spiritual leader of the so-called 'Yarmuk' Jama'at."
