President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has threatened to close the local TV Companies, which will not cover Islamic issues. The Republic's leader has declared it at a meeting with the heads of district administrations, imams and managers of TV Companies of Chechnya.

The web portal Nohchi.vu reports that according to Mr Kadyrov not on all the Chechen TV channels are broadcasting their programs in compliance with the norms of ethics and morals adopted by Chechen people. "Films and video clips of almost immoral character are put on air," Ramzan Kadyrov has stated, having noted that only certain TV channels of the Republic are covering the culture and history of the nation.

In this context, President Kadyrov has called imams of the mosques to prove their knowledge from the TV screen, and asked the managers of TV Companies to allot broadcasting time for this purpose to religious figures, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
