Every fourth Russia's resident thinks special agencies involved in murdering Politkovskaya and Litvinenko

Every fourth resident of the Russian Federation is convinced that Russian special agencies were involved in the resonant murders of journalist Anna Politkovskaya and ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko.

Sociologists from the "Levada-Centre" have informed the "Echo Moskvy" Radio about these results of their latest public opinion poll. It is also remarkable that a quarter of respondents have considered such agencies as non-involved, while about half of those asked had no opinion on the issue at all.

The NEWSru.com writes that during the last year the number of those who find special agencies guilty of murdering Politkovskaya has grown noticeably. One year ago they counted 18 percent. In 2006, 27 percent of respondents suspected special agencies to be organizers of Litvinenko's murder.
