European Court for Human Rights to consider the complaint of Azerbaijani ex-Minister of Public Health

The European Court for Human Rights has accepted to consideration a complaint lodged by Ali Insanov, former Minister of Public Health of Azerbaijan. His advocates told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.

The advocates have also informed that the ex-Minister, who is kept in Penitentiary Institution No. 13, complains of permanent heart pains. Despite the conclusion of the medical expert commission of the Ministry of National Security about Insanov's illnesses, the Ministry of Justice and the Penitentiary Service would not sanction his transfer to the medical establishment of the Ministry of Justice, one of the advocates has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that Mr Insanov was arrested in October 2005 on charges of conspiracy aiming at dethroning the existent power in Azerbaijan. Subsequently, this charge was isolated into a separate case. In April 2007, he was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for bribe-taking, excess of service powers and a number of economic crimes.
