Court cancels decision to stop the "Ingushetia.Ru" website
The Panel on Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia has cancelled the decision of the Nazran District Court on recognition of the interview of businessman Musa Keligov placed in the website "Ingushetia.Ru" to be of extremist nature and sent the case to new consideration.
On September 25, the regional centre for domain registration closed the "Ingushetia.Ru" under the court ruling; the website had belonged to Ingush oppositionist Magomed Evloev, who was killed on August 31; later the "Ingushetia.Org" similar website appeared in the Internet instead.
"The ruling on the Kuntsevo District Court in Moscow dated June 6, 2008, to stop the 'Ingushetia.Ru' media website was based on this particular decision," writes the "Ingushetia.Org". "The website was accused of dissemination of extremist materials right on the above decision of the Nazran District Court."
In his turn, the advocate of the family of the perished manager of the website Magomed Evloev has lodged a complaint to the Presidium of the Moscow City Court, in which he asks to recognize the decision of the Kuntsevo District Court on closing the Internet resource to be illegal.
Lawyer Pliev has also noted that should the Moscow City Court reject the complaint, he will try to appeal against the decision to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Besides, he prepares materials on Evloev's murder and ban of the website to the European Court. "We've decided to unite these cases into one complaint, as we think they are interconnected, and we'll specify it at the European Court," Mr Pliev has added. He has also noted that the lawyers will apply to the European Court irrespective of decisions of Russian courts.
Let us note also that on November 18 the Supreme Court of Ingushetia will consider the petition of the lawyers to re-qualify the Magomed Evloev's murder case into intentional homicide.
