Illegal migrants deported from Kuban region
The migration situation in Krasnodar Territory has been difficult for several years. As the press service of the Krasnodar regional administration informs, the large inflow of foreign citizens and people without citizenship from the other countries into the region is explained by its special geopolitical location.
Governor of Krasnodar Territory Aleksandr Tkachyov took a firm stand towards the migratory law breakers. 160,000 of them were revealed only for ten months of this year. 855 people were deported from Russia for this period.
The situation with illegal migration of Tajik citizens is especially difficult in the region. The police of Krasnodar Territory have discovered 200 infringers from Tajikistan in November and December 2003. Court decided to deport 157 of them who have valid documents of the Tajik Republic. The Consular Department of the Tajik Foreign Ministry is working on the identification of the rest.
Commenting upon the situation, the head of the Krasnodar regional administration, Aleksandr Tkachyov, pointed out, "I ask not to look for any nationalistic steps in our actions. We find legal means to deport illegal migrants."
