In Yerevan, master of information-analytical programme at "Shant" TV Company beaten

In Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, Nver Mnatsakyan, master of the information-analytical programme "Erankar" (Perspective) at the "Shant" TV Company, was beaten. The journalist addressed the "Armenia" medical centre, and after receiving medical aid went home.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that attacks on journalists in Armenia are frequent. On April 30, Argishti Kiviryan, coordinator of the Internet edition "Armenia Today" was violently beaten at the entrance of his house.

According to the operative report of the Police of Armenia, Nver Mnatsakyan, born in 1957, was beaten today at about midnight by two unknown persons in front of doorway No. 1 of the house located at 20/3 Margaryana Street. The "Panorama.am" Agency adds that the culprits ran away.

The attack was made at the building of the "Shant" TV Company in Yerevan, as the "Gazeta.Ru" clarifies.

The journalist's condition is stable, his forensic-medical examination was appointed. Investigation is underway.

The "ArmInfo" Agency reminds that in 2006 Nver Mnatsakyan, author and master of the "Perspective" programme was awarded with the prize "For contribution in covering different viewpoints on actual topics" of the Yerevan Press Club.
