Ingush President takes Makhsud Makhloev's kidnapping under personal control

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov said that he would take the case about kidnapping of Makhsud Makhloev on October 29 in Sleptsovskaya village, Sunzha District, under his personal control.

"So far, nothing is known about Makhsud, no gleams. On November 2, I saw the President and talked to Mr Evkurov; I told him all the details. He promised to clear out and give me an answer in two days. I sit and wait for his call; he took my telephone number and address. Evkurov said that he'd take the case under his supervision," Khamatkhan Makhloev, Makhsud's father, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his version, we went to the President together with his relative and neighbour, who could, if necessary, tell what they knew the family of his son. "However, only I alone could get there; and I could hardly break through. My application about Makhsud's disappearance that I filed on October 29, has only now reached Evkurov," said Mr Makhloev.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
