Detained Zviad Gamsakhurdia's son stops his hunger strike

Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first President of Georgia, arrested on the charge of a murder attempt, has decided to stop his protest hunger strike because of sharp deterioration of his health.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that Tsotne who insists that he is innocent went on hunger strike in protest against the accusations against him.

The IA "Trend" reports with reference to lawyer Keti Bekauri that his hunger strike lasted for more than a month.

"Tsotne Gamsakhurdia has stopped his hunger strike, which he had started in protest," said the lawyer. The investigation took particular steps and interrogated the victim - Mr Badzhelidze." Besides, on November 27 Tsotne was placed into the prison hospital.

The "Georgia Today" reports that on December 2 Tsotne Gamsakhurdia addressed his open letter to the US President and leaders of the European Union member-states. The letter runs that the investigation of his case in Georgia is biased, in order to please the authorities of Georgia. In particular, according to his version, inspectors have failed to interrogate the only eyewitness of the incident, and also "disregarded the opinion of the forensic expert."
