Evkurov: Ingushetia helps militants in return to peaceful life

As reported by President Yunus-Bek Evkurov at a meeting in the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), in 2009 in Ingushetia 16 militants surrendered and returned to peaceful life.

"These are the persons, whose criminal activity was not proved in the course of the checks conducted by MIA and FSB bodies. They were hiding and committing crimes, but it was not proved," said Mr Evkurov.

According to his version, these former members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) "will no longer commit crimes"; therefore, they were granted jobs and conditions to receive education.

He has noted also that one of today's important problems is in illegal actions of law enforcement bodies. He specified that it refers to the MIA, FSB, and other attached special agencies.

"It's a huge problem, including kidnappings and other facts. Today, by all operative data, 90 percent of the persons kidnapped in the republics are members or helpers of IAFs. But it shouldn't mean that the person must disappear completely," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Evkurov as saying.

He also drew attention to the importance of close attention to employees of law enforcement bodies and addressing their social problems, as the "Yuga.Ru" reports.
