In Sochi, protesting ecologists found guilty of disobedience

The magistrate court of the settlement of Dagomys, Lazarevskoe District of the city of Sochi, has passed a verdict to seven persons detained in Vardane settlement for protesting against construction of a domestic waste landfill. They were found guilty of disobedience to militiaman's demands.

On September 3 in Sochi, in total eight persons were detained during the protest action against construction of the landfill of solid domestic wastes; later one of them was released. Six participants were fined by one thousand roubles each; while Buu Karpo Markaryan, a resident of Nizhniy, was sentenced to a five-day arrest.

Militiamen refused to make comments on the situation without coordination with their bosses.
