The man who was declared killed during a special operation in Dagestan had been tortured before death, the victim's relative reports

Jamaluddin Sharapuddinov who was declared killed during a special operation on May, 26, in the settlement of Chontaul, Dagestan, by National Anti-Terrorist Committee had been tortured to death, the victim's brother-in-law Abdula Ibragimov, resident of the settlement of Komsomolskoye, Kizilyurt district of Dagestan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

"All his body was burned, the skin in some paces peeled off, muscles and even bones could be seen", Abdula Ibragimov declared. He produced a video record made on his mobile as a proof.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that according to law enforcement bodies, three supposed gunmen were killed during a special operation which started at night of May, 27, in the settlement of Chontaul, Kizilyurt district of Dagestan. A policeman also perished.

On May, 28, Abdula Ibragimov declared that the information of National Anti-Terrorist Committee of Russia about the murder of Jamaluddin Sharapuddinov during the special operation on May, 26, was untrue.

Ibragimov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on that day he and Sharapuddinov were detained by the personnel of law enforcement bodies. "On May, 26, my wife, my sister and I went to see my other sister Umaiganat in the settlement of Nechayevka in Jamaluddin's car. At eleven o'clock a "Gazelle" car with unknown armed and camouflaged men drove up to our house. The men were Dagestanies. I came out into the courtyard. One of the members of the top brass asked: "Whose car is it there in the yard?". I explained everything to him and the man said the car had a wanted notice, therefore we had to go to Kizilyurt district Department of Interior Affairs. I said that Jamaluddin had been driving the car for over two years and still we went to the Department", Ibragimov said.

In the district Department of Interior Affairs Ibragimov and Sharapuddinov were taken to different rooms. "Jamaluddin went away with a policeman. I was led to another room where an interrogation started but there were no specific questions", Ibragimov continued.

Some time later the personnel of the Department started asking Ibragimov where his relative lived. "The policeman asks: "What district is Sharapuddinov's house located in?". I reply: "Why do you ask me? Ask Jamaluddin himself", the man goes on with his story. - But I was told that he had just escaped from the office. Then the policeman went away and I was placed in a cellar without any explanations. In two hours another policeman came down there and announced that Jamaluddin had just been killed in a special operation in the settlement of Chontaul and added that it was my fault.

Abdula Ibragimov considers that the policemen killed his brother-in-law and put his dead body secretly near the place of the special operation. "It is physically impossible to run away from the district Department of Interior Affairs for there are a great number of policemen around and the territory is fenced in. The policemen just killed Jamaluddin and transported his body to Chontaul", he said.

Ibragimov also declared that his rights were repeatedly violated by the policemen during detention. "It was time for prayer but one of the policemen said that police department was not the right place to pray. - He says. - I was not even allowed to go out to the toilet. Then the policemen started drawing up a protocol of administrative infringement. One of them said that I should be imprisoned for five days, the other suggested fifteen days. When I asked them what my fault was they told me I had disobeyed their legal demand. The policemen registered the protocol in spite of my indignation. In his turn, the magistrate sentenced me to one day of administrative arrest".

Ibragimov then said he was going to appeal against the magistrate's judgment and demand punishment for the personnel of law enforcement bodies.

Officials of the police stations of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Dagestan and Kizilyurt Department of Interior Affairs told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they knew nothing of the incident connected with detention of Ibragimov and Sharapuddinov.
