MIA: Taashev killed in Kabardino-Balkaria was with Baksan Jamaat

Eduard Taashev, involved in the grouping of Zalim Tutov, who was in wanted list, was killed in Kabardino-Balkaria. This was reported today by the United Information Centre (UIC) of the law enforcement agencies of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

On August 5 in the village of Dugulubgei of Baksan District the law enforcement agents tried to detain Eduard Taashev, a 39-year-old local resident. According to the power agents, Taashev rendered a resistance to them and was shot by return fire.

"None of the civilians and power agents was injured. It was revealed that Taashev was involved in the militant underground which acted in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria and was led by Zalim Tutov," the UIC reports.

According to power agents, Zalim Tutov, who is in the wanted list for committing several attacks on law enforcement agents, declared himself a leader of the grouping soon after Kazbek Tashuev, who led "Baksan branch", was killed" together with the other leaders of the armed underground in the Stavropol village of Progress in April.
