Dagestan: son who ordered murder of his father, Colonel of Justice, sentenced to 15 years of high security

The Supreme Court of Dagestan has sentenced Gadjimurad Khulataev, 19, accused on ordering the killing of his father – Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Yunus Khulataev – to 15 years of high security colony.

On August 1, 2010, in Makhachkala unidentified persons broke into the flat of Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Yunus Khulataev, Deputy Head of the Investigatory Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dagestan, roped up his wife and sons, took Khutalaev into the neighbouring room and shot him dead. The criminals fled having stolen over one million roubles.

In mid-August 2010 the FSB Department for Dagestan reported that in the course of investigating the crime two members of the grouping, both natives of Makhachkala, were detained – Arslan Magomedov, born in 1986, and the casualty's son – Gadjimurad Khulataev, born in 1992.

According to the FSB, Gadjimurad was the customer of the crime. Being a supporter of extremist ideas, he disliked the place, where his father worked.
According to the FSB Department for Dagestan, Arslan Magomedov for about two months was a member of so-called "Balakhani grouping".

The prisoner's box also kept Magomedov's wife Insaniyat Musailova. The court found her guilty under part 1, Article 175 (purchase or sale of property knowingly obtained in criminal way) of the Russian Criminal Code and sentenced her to 1.5 years of probation. The woman was released in the courtroom, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Mysur Magomedov, Khulataev's advocate, expressed his disagreement with the sentence and intention to appeal it at the higher instance, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
