Adygea: 28 persons hold five-day ecological action

28 persons became the participants in the five-day ecological action "Clean Forest, Pure Spring", which ended on June 15 in Adygea in the territory of the "Bolshoi Tkhach" Natural Park. The number of the participants included 16 volunteer students and teachers of the Maikop State University, senior schoolchildren of the secondary school No. 4 of the farm yard of Shaumyan of the Maikop District; they cleaned tourist camping areas and equipped springs.

"Many people wished to participate in the action; however, the number of places was limited: we travelled by bus to the Cossack village of Dakhovskaya, then we went to Taivan by a GAZ-66 car," emphasized Maxim Balandin, Chief Inspector of the Natural Park. He continued: "Besides, we needed experienced people. All people have with them the necessary camping equipment."

Half of the participants of the action schoolchildren, representatives of the "Nabu-Kavkaz" Centre and the Committee of Adygea on Tourism and Resorts arrived at the territory of the National Park for one day. They cleaned the territory of the natural landmark Taivan from garbage, having collected 10 sacks, which comprised more than 140 kilograms, and installed two information boards with detailed maps of the pathways, information about the Natural Park and the rules of behaviour in it.

"Tourists welcomed us, and they were grateful for implementation of such important measures aimed at preserving the unique nature of the Caucasus", stated Genrikh Derziyan, the staff member of the Committee of Adygea on Tourism and Resorts.

There, in the natural landmark, they summed up the contest for the best poster on the theme "Let's Save Springs", organized by the "Nabu- Kavkaz" Centre. According to the staff members of the Centre, when selecting the winner, the y took into account originality of the work, technique of performance and personal spiritual impulse of the participant of the contest. The collective work of schoolgirls from school No. 14 of the farm yard of Shaumyan was recognized as the best work, and the schoolgirls received diplomas and prizes.

On the first day the action, another group of 14 persons ascended to the Koryto Mount, where they removed garbage and cleared the spring at the booth "Yubileiny" (Jubilee). Then, the participants of the action made the same at Shestakov meadow. According to the volunteers, they worked from early morning till late evening. Many of them have already been to that places and know the importance of clear territory and clean drinking water at tourist camping areas.

"The Natural Park is very popular among tourists, only during those five days, we met on a pathway about 60 persons, and we talked to them on the subject of preservation of environment and gave them leaflets," said Maxim Balandin.

According to the organizers, the action succeeded: its implementation and its results went in accordance with the plan.

The organizers plan to hold next action in late summer in the booth "Vetreny" (Windy), the favourite place of tourists stop in the Natural Park. It needs repairing of its roof, developing a nearby spring, and removing of garbage. Volunteers plan to participate in the upcoming campaign.
