Dagestani resident claims investigators' refusal to give out body of his nephew, killed in special operation in Shamkhala

Officers from the Investigatory Committee of the Kirov District of Makhachkala do not give permission for giving out from morgue the body of Iskhaq Magomedov, who was killed, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), on June 10 during a special operation, conducted in the village of Shamkhala. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Ramadan Akhmedov, the uncle of the killed man.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, in an apartment house in the village of Shamkhala, suspected militants were blocked and a regime of counterterrorist operation (CTO) was introduced. During the CTO, in the village of Shamkhala, a summer camp was found, in which there was one man, and the man was killed by power agents during the special operation. On June 11, the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) of the Russian Federation reported that the victim was identified as Iskhaq Magomedov, the associate of the leader of the "Shamkhala" armed grouping.

"We were told that the body will be given out immediately after receiving a document from the Dagestani FSB, confirming that Iskhaq had nothing common with militants and was not involved in the armed underground. Such a document has been already received from the Republic's MIA; however, apparently, it is not enough. And today, I do not know for how much time the process will be protracted, and we should bury my nephew soon," said Ramazan Akhmedov.

He also stated that the killed man was 33 years old, and he was married and had three minor children. According to Ramadan Akhmedov, Iskhaq Magomedov has been registered with the local OVD (Interior Division) a follower of Wahhabism.

In their turn, officers from the duty unit of the Dagestani FSB stated that they knew nothing about non-giving out of the body. The press service of the Investigatory Committee of Dagestan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the body must be given out in provision of all documents.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev and Nurmagomed Magomedov, killed on June 8 in the special operation in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, also claimed the investigators' refusal to give out bodies to them. According to Khaidarbek Magomedgadjiev, the father of Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev, officers from the Investigatory Committee of Dagestan allowed to take away the body of his son from the Makhachkala morgue only after receiving a written document that the relatives had no claims against the law enforcement agencies. He said that after the same procedure, bodies of other three killed men were given to their family members.
